If you are moving, or have moved, to London following graduation, having played golf to a good standard at university, and you are looking to join a London club, then the “Gate” is highly regarded. Recently classified by Golf Monthly as a “hidden gem” Highgate has a history of attracting top quality golfers to the Club. Amongst the membership, there are two past English University Stroke Play champions, two President Putter winners as well as a number of individual and team County champions.
Highgate celebrated its centenary in 2004 and is a superb mature, hilly parkland course. A few recent changes have taken the course to 6,015 yards, but with 4 long par fours and only one tricky par 5 Highgate is a very challenging par 69, SSS 69, supporting the fact that the amateur course record has stood at 66 for the past 27 years. Straight driving and patience is the key to low scoring!
At Highgate our ethos is to remain a private members club insuring that booking a tee time is only necessary for the monthly medal. We are one of the very few London clubs that do not allow green fees at weekends unless as a guest of a member. We are also avid supporters of the great traditions of the game with many singles and foursomes competitions throughout the year.
If you are new to London then accommodation will be a top priority and you will find a wide selection to rent or buy only a few minutes from Highgate, including Archway, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Kentish Town, Camden Town and Tufnell Park. All have excellent links into either the City or West End for work and also have many good restaurants, bars and a cosmopolitan nightlife.
We have got a younger than average Membership at Highgate so there is an excellent chance that if you apply you will have like minded Members at a similar stage of life to meet and play golf with.
There are tiered subscription rates for ages 18-24, 25-27, 28-30 & 31-34.
