Membership at Highgate

Highgate is a private members club, which was founded in 1904. You are required to provide a letter about yourself and your golfing background, together with letters of reference and a handicap certificate (if available) from any current or former clubs. You will then be invited to play some golf with the Manager.

If you wish to proceed with your application, you will be invited to play with other members of the Club in order for you to obtain a valid CONGU handicap which will then determine the category of membership. For 7 Day Membership you need a CONGU handicap of 21 or lower (Men) or 24 or lower (Ladies). For 6 Day Membership the limits are 28 or lower (Men) and 36 or lower (Ladies).  Beginners will be referred to Robin Turner, the Professional, for lessons. Your application can proceed once it has Robin’s endorsement.

All applicants will be played in and interviewed. The recommendations of the Membership Committee then go forward to the General Committee for a decision on approval.
